Bessie Saupe' Obituary
Bessie Lee Sanford Saupe', age 67 of Murfreesboro, died Thursday, May 5, 2011. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Ruby Cates Sanford.
Mrs. Saupe' is survived by her husband of 47 years, William Saupe'; her daughter, Jodi (Matt) Vehr of Murfreesboro; sons, Hank (Theresa) Saupe' and Nick Saupe' all of Murfreesboro; her six grandchildren, Katie, Jake and Rachael Vehr, Luke, John and Jack Saupe'.
Mrs. Saupe' was a 1961 graduate of Kittrell High School and was a retired teacher, teaching at Rockvale Elementary, Smyrna West, Kittrell, and David Youree Elementary.
Visitation will be 3:30 p.m., Monday with Funeral Mass following at 4:30 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 1603 North Tennessee Blvd., Murfreesboro, TN. Father Mark Sappenfield will officiate. Burial to follow in Cateston Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Rose Library or to Rockvale Elementary School Library.

I am so sorry about Bessie. I am the niece of Snooks and Florence Sanford who came to visit you in April with Florence and my sister Betty. I am so glad I got to meet her. Please know that I pray that God comforts you and your family during this time of sorrow.

Just learned of Bessie Lee's passing this morning and I am saddened by the news. We were classmates in the 7th grade @ Kittrell and I remember how sweet and kind Bessie Lee was to me. I stopped for a visit in February as I was passing through Tennessee and I am so happy to have had that wonderful time with her and to reminise our short time together as friends. May God comfort each of you and as long as you have your wonderful memories....you have Bessie Lee!

I am saddened about Lee's passing, but I know God's mercy is best. Lee and I taught at Rockvale for many years and retired together. We became close friends when we began teaming up for book buddies with our two classes years ago. She was a unique person, excellent teacher, and a loyal friend. She will be missed, but many wonderful memories remain. May God comfort the family with the knowledge that we all were blessed to have Lee in our lives.
