Elsie Mae Gallon was a leap year baby born May 31, 1940, (or June 1, 1940) to the union of Clara and Felton Gallon Sr. in Donaldsonville. Elsie attended Lowery High School, where she graduated in 1960.
Elsie married the love of her life, Elray James Wilson Sr. on September 25, 1961. Soon after, they left Louisiana to start their new life in Chicago where they worked and raised their three sons, Ray, Eric and Rod.
Elsie worked for AMD Industries as a factory worker on the west side of Chicago for 25 years when she retired to focus on family.
Elsie (grandma) was a very loving and giving person and the backbone of the Wilson Family. She followed one simple rule "strong love in christ and family."
Elsie was preceded in death by her loving parents Felton Gallon Sr. and Clara Mae Gallon, husband Elray James Wilson Sr., sister Ella Mae Brickley and brother Matthew Gallon (Frankie).
She leaves behind two brothers, Felton Gallon Jr. (Rosa) and Solomon Gallon (Evangeline A.), sons Elray James Wilson Jr. (Ulanda), Eric Thaddeus Wilson (Sherry) and Roderick Demetrius Wilson (Joyce), grandchildren Anthony Buchanan, Amia Ashford, Calvin Jackson, Taneeka Buckner, Jadon Wilson, Elray James Wilson III, Eric Wilson Jr., Tatyana Wilson, Tevin Wilson, Eranese Wilson, Brianna Wilson, Undre' Wilson, Destiny Wilson, Jalen Monegain and Javaun Mongain. Great Grandchildren Calik Williams, Ty-Lee Williams, Elijah James Wilson, Dynesti Buchanan, Ethan Wilson and a host of brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
