Peterson, Jessie "Irene' Rossman

Jessie "Irene" Rossman Peterson, 93, of Boca Raton, Fla., previously Ellison Bay, and a native of Richmond, Ky., peacefully passed on to Heaven on Sept. 19, 2012.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Leonard Peterson, whom she married in 1988, following the death if her first husband, Jack Rossman in 1980; one sister, one brother-in-law, and her best sister-friend, Ada Lombardi. She also leaves one daughter, two sons, and four grandchildren. She is survived by Leonard's 10 children, 22 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

Irene was an elementary school teacher for 20 years in Lansing, then social director at Maranatha Bible Conference, Moody Keswick Bible Conference in St. Petersburg, Fla. (where she met Leonard), and Bible Town in Boca Raton, Fla.

Her greatest gift was her warm personality and contagious laugh. She gave from her heart and her kitchen while continuing to be a student of the Bible. She spent her last year being assisted by her family in Florida, while Leonard is being cared for by his daughter in Sturgeon Bay.

A memorial celebration was held at the West Lakes Club House in Boca Raton on Sept. 22, 2012.
