Alex Neumann Obituary

Alex Neumann

Brussels - Alex Neumann, 28, of Brussels, WI, formerly of Bismarck, ND, much to the great sadness of those who loved him, died at home on November 5, 2018.

Alexander Raymond was born on October 4, 1990. He spent his early years in Minot, ND raised by his parents, Gena and Casey Neumann, before moving to Bismarck. He enjoyed going to his grandparents in Fessenden and in New Town, where he had a special relationship with his Grandpa Robert. He developed a love for Saturday Night Live early on, enjoyed listening to a variety of music including John Lennon and the Beatles and taking walks in what he called "Strawberry fields". Alex was a private person, but those he allowed into his circle of trust were there for life.

Alex graduated from Bismarck High School in 2009. After graduating, Alex moved to Chicago to chase his dream of becoming an improv comic. He completed an internship and attended classes at the IO Theater, where you could always find him making the audience roar.

Alex loved spending time with his little brother Brock - whether it be playing video games, going bowling, watching movies or just hanging out together - they were the best of brothers. Alex was also very proud of his sister Jade for balancing school, work and being a full-time mother. Family was important to Alex and he loved calling home and talking for at least two hours each chat. His niece, Emery, was the shining light in his life that brought joy to his heart. He always had a big smile waiting for her and loved to play games and spoil her. He was so proud to have the honor of being her Godfather.

He married Andrea Casson on April 4, 2018. Being a history buff, Alex could recite the speech of Bobby Kennedy and was honored to be married next to the Landmark for Peace Memorial in Indianapolis, on the 50th anniversary of Bobby Kennedy's famous call for peace. They made their home in Brussels, WI. He was employed at Hatco, where he also made a positive impact on his coworkers.

Mingled with our sadness of his death, we remember Alex for all the joy he brought to our lives, his heart of gold, and for the many passions he shared with those who cared for him. We could always count on him for a big "Alex" hug. He will be missed beyond measure by the many who love him.

A private family service was held at Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden ND, Monday, November 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with burial following at Hillside Cemetery.

Alex is survived by his wife, Andrea; parents, Gena and Casey; sister and brother, Jade and Brock; niece, Emery; grandparents, Judy and Wally Neumann, Viola Pennington, and Jane and Dave Kleveland; Ozzie and Doris Staupe and many special aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Robert Pennington.

Casey & Family; so very sorry to hear of the death of Alex. My oldest son, Dalton, spoke very highly of Alex, especially his great sense of humor. "Where are we going, fellas?" "To the top, Johnny!" Where's that fellas?" "To the toppermost of the poppermost!" - John Lennon and the Beatles. I remember spending all night talking or staying up for days just you and me listening to music, chatting about life, you telling jokes, and enlightening me with your wisdom about everything your passionate about. You made a big impact on my life. You were first person to introduce themselves on my first day at Ruby's. I will never forget everything you have done for me, you will truly be missed. And yes Alex I did shower for this. ❤

Neumann. I'll never forget you or the friendship we had. Thanks for all the laughs and all the love, all the jokes and memories. You will forever hold a special place in my heart. ❤ Whether it was a happy birthday or a Joe Dirt quote or a "proud of you, now stop looking at me", I'll cherish every single word you ever said.

Andrea and family, I pray you are filled with peace that surpasses your understanding, I pray for supernatural healing and protection, I pray that all of your hearts will heal. We love you all so much.

I am sad to know that we will not get to know each other better. I remember our long visit on my porch at the lake and how appreciative of the Ricky Nelson Album I gave you. We talked about music and life and you gave the best hugs. Be at peace Alex. Love, Laurel

Oh Alex... You made our last year bearable. You made the rough shifts easy. You took the time to teach others and show them how to have pride in what they do. You never have up and you stayed true to your ideals. The strength and heart you shared with those in your life was such a blessing. Thank you.

First and for most my heart and prayers to Alex family. Alex always made my mornings/evenings when he'd come into my work at Marlin's in Bismarck just to see his favorite server working and it didn't matter what i ordered him, he was happy with it and the different hats he wore too. Alway made my nights at work better because he treated me like i treated him thru out the time i knew Alex. I hated to say goodbye to him when he told me he was moving away. Was always happy to see him.....he touched my heart....
