DeWayne H. Olson, 79, of Duluth, died Wednesday April 16, 2003, in Franciscan Health Center. He was born March 10, 1924, to August and Mildred Olson. He is an army veteran of WWII. He worked as a Conductor for the DM&IR for 34 years until his retirement in 1977. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of The Holy Trinity; VFW Post #137; and Union Local #1292. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alden, LeRoy, and Harvey. He is survived by his wife, LoRayne Olson; son, Bruce (Irene) of Duluth; daughter, Marsha (Tom) Olson of Eveleth; brothers, George (Theresa) of Proctor, David (Jean) of Hermantown; sisters, Marlene (Charles) Smouse of Iowa, Beverly (Vern) Swanson of N.C.; Julee (Douglas) Malm of Ill., Nancy (Ed) Wilson of Ga., Bonnie Olson of Wis.; five grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. VISITATION:5-7 p.m., Saturday in Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home. A private family service will be held at a later date.
