Christopher Wayne Newton was born on November 16, 1989 to Kenneth Palmer and Janet Renae Newton in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Christopher went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 12, 2015 in Durant, at the age of 25 years, 1 month and 27 days.
Christopher came to Bryan County in 2003 from Kiowa, Oklahoma and working in the oil field was his favorite job. Christopher attended 7th and Beech Church of Christ and enjoyed fishing, skateboarding, listening to music, and was always joking with family and friends. Christopher loved his favorite sports teams the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Christopher is Preceded in death by his aunts, Gooben Stiles, Euna Sweetin; uncle, Harland Stiles; great grandparents, Ben and Francine Sweetin, Ran and Orvilla Newton; cousin, Tresea Shields.
Christopher is survived by his loving mother and father Janet Renae Newton of Calera, Kenneth Palmer of Shawnee; sister, Monica Griffis of Calera; brother, Tyler Palmer of Shawnee; uncle, Johnny Newton and wife Waleeta of Elk City, Oklahoma; grandparents, Jan and Faye Newton of Durant, Lonnie Palmer and Kathy Palmer of Shawnee; along with numerous close cousins and other loving family and friends.
Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Christopher will be held at Brown's Funeral Service on January 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Van Newton and Bro. John Curtis officiating. Interment will follow at Pittsburg Cemetery in Pittsburg, OK with Benny Stiles, Jackie Stiles, Willie Suter, Jordan McDaniel, Kasey Kellum, and Tyler Palmer serving as pallbearers. After Interment the family invites friends for lunch at the Baptist Church in Pittsburg. Family will greet friends at the Funeral Home Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com
Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service in Durant.

Thinking of this family. I never met Chris but talked with him on fb. He was a good friend of Cody Bond (my late nephew) prayers for comfort to get loved ones through the hardest thing you'll ever face. RIP Chris.
