1951 - 2021 The Mather family sadly announces the passing of Patricia Ruth Grant (nee Mather) on March 22, 2021 at Lakeridge Health Ajax, ON in her 70th year. She was predeceased by her mother Kathleen (nee Somers), her husband Rick Grant and her niece Amanda Mather. Pat is survived by her dear friend and partner John Smith, her father Sterling Mather of Oshawa, and her brother John (Donna) of Oshawa. She sadly leaves behind her nephews Tim Mather and Brian Mather (Candice) both of Oshawa and niece Julie Mather (Ted) of Lindsay. Pat also had one great-nephew T.J. (Tim) and two great-nieces Addison and Charley (Brian) who she loved beyond measure and could not feed enough when they went to visit. Pat enjoyed a very active and challenging life. She was the original owner of Papa's Pizza in Newcastle and Millbrook and worked at Purchasing for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed a variety of activities including knitting and sewing. Her best claim to fame however was her apple pie making. Irresistible! Pat was a very caring lady with a huge heart who would do anything for anyone who needed her. She picked the best Christmas gifts and always remembered her large family's birthdays. Pat had a busy life and especially more so in the last few years being the caregiver for her dad. Cremation has taken place and a service to celebrate Pat's life will be held once circumstances permit larger gatherings. Donations in Pat's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
