Paul was born in Flagstaff, Arizona on August 16, 1938. Through the years he also lived in Mesa, Arizona and in St. George, Utah, where he lived and raised his family. The past 30 years he has made his residence in Phoenix, Arizona.

Paul graduated from Mesa High School. He attended college at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and also ASU in Tempe, Arizona where he graduated. He attended graduate school in Atlanta, Georgia.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; Millard and Naomi Kuhn.

He leaves behind his wife of nearly 25 years, Jacki. He also leaves behind 8 children from a previous marriage; Peri Hardy (Cresent), Kerwin (Lily), Darl (Heidi), Karolyn Vowles (Brad), Arvin (Michelle), Rex, Lance, and Kristi Jackson (Lance), 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, Frederick Ellis Kuhn (Sylvia) of Oceanside, CA, and a sister Karol Kuhn Truman (Delmont) of St. George, Utah.

Paul's passions have been enjoying nature and the outdoors with hiking and backpacking in the deserts and mountains of the Southwest. He also loved photography. Seeing the beauty of nature wasn't enough for Paul; he loved to put what he saw in print and share his beautiful pictures with others.

Paul was happy, honest and loving and had a laugh that made everyone laugh. He will be sorely missed by his wife Jacki and by family and friends.

The funeral will be held at Mountain View Lutheran Church in Ahwatukee. Visitation 2:00 p.m. and the service at 3 p.m.

The family asks that memorials be given to the Cancer research or , Sherman Home in Phoenix, Arizona.
