Carl H. Carlson

Carl H. Carlson May 24, 1928 - March 23, 2006 Carl Carlson passed away in San Ramon on March 23, 2006. After battling cancer and a severe treatment program, he recovered to play golf and garner his second hole-in-one. For a caddy in childhood and a four-day-a-week golfer in retirement, it was an achievement beyond dreams. Born in St. Paul, MN on May 24, 1928, Mr. Carlson was a longtime resident of Danville, CA. A veteran, a mechanical engineer and an MBA, Mr. Carlson began a career in technology in the 1950s. He distinguished himself as a corporate officer and Executive Vice President of Opertaions for Apple Computer during its infancy and built the worldwide manufacturing and distribution for the company during and after its IPO. An avid golfer and member of Blackhawk Country Club, he organized 50 pro-am tournaments in his 22 years of retirement. A teacher and a student his whole life, he will be missed by all whose lives he touched. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. Preceded in death by his daughter, Dolora Carlson, Mr. Carlson is survived by his wife, Rita, and son, David Carlson, both of Danville, and a brother, George Carlson. Visiting hours will be Sunday, March 26, from 12:00-5:00pm with a vigil to be held at 4:00pm at Wilson & Kratzer Chapel of San Ramon Valley, 825 Hartz Way, Danville. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, March 27, 11:00am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 2601 San Ramon Valley Blvd., San Ramon. Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Lafayette, CA.
