Bart Stockman Obituary

Bart Douglass "Doug" Stockman Resident of Richmond Bart Douglass "Doug" Stockman, died at home surrounded by his family after a short battle with lung cancer on 3-8-2010. He was born in Drumright, Oklahoma on November 1, 1928 to Freeman Arthur and Mattie Jane Stockman. Doug came to Richmond in 1943. He joined the Air Force and served for 4 years. Upon his return, he started employment at Standard Oil in Richmond. In 1964 he entered the plumbing trade and worked at Harold Beasley Plumbing in Vallejo until his retirement in 1989. Doug was a former member of the Richmond Rambler Motorcycle Club, and the Berkeley Water Ski Club. He was a member of the Richmond Elks Lodge #1251. He was a 50 year member of the Plumbers and Steamfitter Union Local 343. Doug is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sue Stockman; and children Linda Malone, Michelle Cathcart and Denise "Mitzie" Stockman; grandchildren Jake Cathcart, Kelsey Cathcart, Rachel Miller and Suzannah Miller; and great-granddaughter Charlotte McMahon; sister Dorothy Johnson; and nephew John Johnson; and special nephew and niece Jim and Kathy von Mosch; and numerous other nephews and nieces. A Celebration of Life will be held at La Strada Restaurant, 2215 Church Lane, San Pablo, CA on Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 1:00-3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Milestones of Development, Program 5, 1 Florida St. Vallejo, CA 94590.

My heart goes out too you and your family at this time. I have many memories of Doug during the years at Beasley Plbg and of both, you and Doug, during our group trips over the years. I know He is resting peacefully.
