IRENE JO CHILDERS GOUGH 1918 - 2007 Irene passed after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Irene is survived by two brothers; Alfred Jr. and Joseph; two sisters, Alma Pomeroy and Pearl Heller; children Dennis and Kassi; six grandchildren; Steve, Jim, Sean, Samantha, Danielle, Erik and two great grandchildren; Wesley and Kelly. Husband Noel 'Bud' Gough preceded her in death in 1991. A dedicated Salvation Army professional volunteer with a lifetime achievement award for over 50 years of service. A lifetime achievement award from Belmont School District PTA. She started the canned food drive that continues to provide food for people in need. In 1959 Irene used her talents to create a Belmont branch of the welcoming organization City Hostess International. She served as President of the San Mateo Genealogical Society for four consecutive years. She was also a lifetime member of the Daughter' s of the American Revolution. Funeral service to be held at Crippen & Flynn Carlmont Chapel, 1111 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, Ca on Saturday March 17, 2007 at 10AM. Interment will follow at Skylawn Memorial Park.
