Marie Cameron entered peacefully into rest at her home in Pleasanton, on August 27, 2018. She was 84 years old.
On January 4,1934, she was born in Palo Alto, where she grew up, attended Palo Alto High School and was a star athlete.
At the age of 20, Marie and her best friend Jackie Salabert set off to Washington DC to work for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) as Stenographers. From there, Marie took a position in the travel department as a Travel Agent, and was later transferred back to California, where she met her future husband William Cameron Sr. They married in February 1962, and started their family. Throughout their 49 year marriage, they enjoyed traveling the world, bridge, and hosting dinner parties. After retiring as a Travel Agent, her passions became golf, and her grandchildren.
Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, nonie, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.
Marie is survived by her children William Cameron Jr. his wife, Cossette, of Castro Valley, Lisa Dawkins her husband, Gordon, of Angels Camp, and Mark Cameron of San Lorenzo; sister, Christine Marsh-Madden of Lake Tahoe, loving grandchildren, Kenneth, Kyle, Kierstan, Stephanie and Ian; many cherished extended family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Marie's life on Friday, September 14, 2018, at 11 AM, at Jess C. Spencer Mortuary, 21228 Redwood Rd, Castro Valley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105, in memory of Marie Joy Cameron.
