Winston Albert Williams, Sr.

Longtime Resident of Oakland, CA
Winston Albert Williams, Sr. passed away peacefully at home on February 14th, 2021.
Born in Longview, Texas and graduated from Prairie View A&M University. Winston served as a teacher, counselor, vice principal and principal in the Oakland Unified School District. He was the first president of the Oakland Alliance of Black Educators.
A faithful member of Allen Temple Baptist Church, father, dedicated educator, Army Captain, two-time Purple Heart recipient, Bronze Star medalist, life-time member of the Berkeley Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and loving husband. Winston was aware that he had completed his earthly assignment.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Tella-Marie, his brother, James N. E. Williams (Barbara), three sons: Winston A. Williams, Jr., (Betty), Gary R. Williams (Diane), Darryl L. Williams (Peggy), Donna J. Williams Gatson (Larry), 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A private service to celebrate his life will be held at Fouche's Hudson Funeral Home. He will be buried in his hometown in Longview, Texas.
