William passed away Tuesday morning February 12. Born in Dinuba, CA, he grew up in Berkeley, CA. He joined the army in 1942. While stationed at West Palm Beach, FL, he married his high school sweetheart, Georga, who predeceased him in 2010. After a distinguished career he moved back to Berkeley to join his wife and 10 month old son. Living in Berkeley, he had two more children - a daughter and a second son. Moving from Berkeley to Hayward in 1955, where he raised his family until moving to Alameda in the summer of 1967, living there until his death at age 90. He was very dedicated to the Presbyterian Church and had a 33-year career with the PGE. With his wife, he volunteered with Alameda Meals on Wheels for many years delivering food every week. He enjoyed square dancing, golf, going to baseball and football games, taking many trips to Canada, Europe, Alaska, Hawaii and many other states. He was an Oakland A's season ticket holder for over 25 years and enjoyed going to the games with family and friends. He will be deeply missed and is survived by his three children and five grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at Alameda 1st Presbyterian Church on March 16 at 2pm.
