Joseph Nickolas Aliotti, passed away on May 1, 2016 with his family by his side at the age of 87. Joe lived in Pittsburg his entire life where he spent a lot of his time playing sports and at the Pittsburg Marina.
After graduating from Pittsburg High School he immediately went to work at U.S. Steel, a few years later he left to serve in the Korean War and upon returning went back to work at U.S. Steel where he worked almost 40 years.
During this time he also worked many side jobs; George Boone's gas station, Tahoe Pool Service, and fishing in Alaska with his uncles. Joe was an avid duck hunter for over 75 years, an athlete at PHS where he played baseball and basketball, and loved playing cards weekly with his Pinochle and Gin group.
Joe is survived by his wife of 63 years, Genevieve Ferrante Aliotti and their five children, Nick (Kathryn), Pete, Joe (Wendy), Rosanne (Jerry) and Richard (Maria); along with his 12 grandchildren Michael (Tracee), Nicole, Ashley, Sara, Kristin (Jonathan), Joey (Christina), Anthony (Jessica), Whitney (Jeremy), Nicolette, Garrett, Richie and Hunter; and four great grandchildren Nina, Nico, Joseph and Giuliana; his two sisters Kathy Belleci and Angela (Sal) Tedesco, ten nieces and nephews and many cousins, great and grand nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Nick and Rose (Mutulo) Aliotti, his brother Vince Aliotti, his daughter-in-law Robin Aliotti and his granddaughter Jeanine Nicole Aliotti. He was known to many as "Nano Joe," and will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 4:00pm with a vigil at 7:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Friday, May 6, 2016 at 10:00am at Church of the Good Shepherd. A private burial will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate your donation to The Robin Aliotti Memorial Business Scholarship, Los Medanos College Foundation, 2700 E. Leland Road, Pittsburg, CA 94565.

Aliotti Family,

I have warm memories of my Godfather. He was a kind-hearted father and friend...who brought a positive light to everyone who had the privilege to know him. He will always live in my thoughts and prayers. My condolences to Gen and the family.
