Marjorie Wise Loudy died peacefully at home August 21, 2017 in Castro Valley, CA. She was 95 years old.
Marjorie was born in Champaign, IL on January 14, 1922 and raised on the family farm in Savoy, IL. She was the eldest of eight children born to Clark Edward Wise and Florence Marie Sperling Wise. Marjorie graduated from Tolono High School in 1939 and received her Registered Nurse Degree in 1942 from The School of Nursing at Burnham City Hospital, Champaign IL. She married high school sweetheart, Francis Loudy in 1942 who preceded her in death in 1998. The two of them moved to Oakland, CA where Francis was stationed during WW II and Marge worked at Merritt Hospital. Later they worked side by side for 35 years at the family jewelry store in San Leandro, Loudy's Jewelers. She lived in San Leandro and Castro Valley for 71 years. Marge will be remembered for her love of music, birds and flowers. She enjoyed spending time with family especially in Bear Valley and traveling throughout the United States and Europe. She was active for many years with the United Methodist Women group.
Marjorie is survived by her four children: David Loudy and his wife, Sally; Jacquelynn DuVall; Robert Loudy and his wife, Pamela; and Susan Bruno along with eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
All are welcome to join the family for a Celebration of Life, Saturday, September 23rd at 11:00am at the First United Methodist Church at 1600 Bancroft Ave, San Leandro, CA.
