Mary Jane Bunce, 96 of Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully on August 30, 2021, at Bear Canyon Rehabilitation Center.
Mary Jane was born on May 7, 1925, in Cuervo, NM to Filiberto Olivas and Teodocia (Romo) Olivas. Mary Jane was a faithful parishioner in the various places she resided in. She was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Parish in Clovis, NM, at Saint Rose of Lima in Santa Rosa, NM and most recently at Sangre De Cristo in Albuquerque, NM. While living in Santa Rosa, Mary Jane was an active member of the Hijas De Maria Society and she was a Third Order Franciscan. She also enjoyed playing bingo.
Mary Jane is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jim Bunce in 2016; daughter, Annette Bunce in 2010; brothers, Joe Frank Olivas in 2000 and Genaro Olivas; sisters, Estella Lovato in 2010 and MaryLou Ruiz in 2005.
Mary Jane is survived by her children; John Olivas of Riverside, CA, Victor Hernandez (Annemarie) of Minnetonka, MN, Marcial Hernandez of Portales, NM, Joe Bunce (Sharon) of Ft. Sumner, NM; daughters, Valerie Lubitz of Albuquerque, NM, Lois Chaffin (Bob) of Salt Lake, UT; brother, Phil Olivas of Riverside, CA; 21 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many family, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be prior to the rosary, from 9-10am at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be at 10am at Saint Rose of Lima followed by the Mass of Christian Burial with Father Christopher Bernabe Officiating the service. Mary Jane will be laid to rest at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa with Max Lubitz, Richard Lubitz, John Olivas, Jr., Micah Bunce, Caleb Bunce, Nathan Rupe, Jacob Olivas and Jeremiah Bunce serving as Pallbearers.
