Reta Mac Hardin of Lubbock passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at the age of 92. She was born September 6, 1928, in Spur, Texas to Emmitt and Odessa (Carmack) Phifer. Reta graduated from McAdoo High School in 1945 as Valedictorian. She later graduated from Lippert Business College. On February 10, 1946, she married B. C. Hardin, Jr. in McAdoo, Texas and together they began their family.
She is survived by her children, Lyndon (Judy) Hardin, Randall (Harmony) Hardin, and Reta (Rick) Cooper; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and one brother. Reta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, B.C. Hardin, Jr. in 2018 after 72 years of marriage; and one sister.
Open visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2021, with the family receiving friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Combest Family Funeral Homes. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2021, at the McAdoo Cemetery in McAdoo, Texas.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Lubbock or the McAdoo Cemetery Association. The family would like to thank Wilshire Place for the love and care given to their mother.

To Reta Hardins’ family, so sorry for the loss of your mother, she has gained her wings eternally in Gods Kingdom; may God bless your sorrow in hard times like this; Reta will be missed, a wonderful sweet lady, glad I had the opportunity to have known her while she lived at Wilshire Place, a place she enjoyed n called it home, may God bless you all.
