Amy SAJJAD Obituary

Published by Edmonton Journal on Dec. 17, 2013.
SAJJAD, Amy
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Amy Sajjad on December 13, 2013, following a short illness at the age of 89.
Amy was born on January 11, 1924 in Pakistan. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence James Sajjad in June of 2000. Amy is survived by her sons, Assad Joe (Sylvie), Shahid Lee (Joanie), Saad Mike (Fay), daughter Saadyia Myra, and sister Gulu in India. Her legacy will live on through grandchildren; Adam (Anna), Amy, Samantha, Leah, Jesse, Jacqueline, Conner, Dawson and great-grandson Jaxon. Also mourning her loss are sister-in- law and brother-in-law Sheila and William Jawaid and many family members in Edmonton, Toronto, USA, UK, Pakistan and India who loved her deeply.
Throughout her life, Amy touched so many lives. Her powerful legacy will always remind us of hard work, integrity, caring, sharing, never giving up on your dreams, and holding on to what is most important in life; family and faith.
Our families want to particularly thank the staff at the ICU at the Royal Alex Hospital for making Amy's last days peaceful and respectful. We will never forget their dedication, kindness and guidance in these difficult moments.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Howard & McBride Westlawn Chapel, 16310 Stony Plain Rd. Viewing will take place one hour prior. Interment to follow at Westlawn Memorial Gardens.
