Beryl STRAND Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 9, 2004.
STRAND, Beryl October 4, 1928 - January 7, 2004 Beryl Strand (nee Campbell) passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her family on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at the age of 75. Beryl is survived and will be forever loved by her husband, Dale, her daughter Mickie (Tim) Vreeland and her son Grant (Charlotte Frost). She was a deeply loving grandmother to Jordan, Scott and Alison; and a caring step-grandmother to David and Chrissy. Beryl was diagnosed with cancer in October, 2003 and from that moment she continued to live joyfully and courageously. Beryl was totally at peace because she knew that God was guiding her journey. Beryl accepted that she would be leaving her family and constantly praised and celebrated the life that God had given her. Beryl neither mourned, nor questioned her diagnosis of cancer, and told us all that she was looking forward to being reunited with her parents and two brothers. Beryl will always be remembered by family and friends as a woman who loved and cared for the people in her life, and as one who lived life with faith and zest. Beryl's family would like to thank all who extended care and compassion to her. Many thanks to Doctors Justin Weinkauf, Janet Chiu, and Michael Smylie and staff at the Cross Cancer Institute and the Capital Health Home Care staff. A Private Family Service will be held with cremation to follow in accordance with Beryl's wishes. A Celebration of Beryl's life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2004 at Beulah Alliance Church, 17850 - 98 A Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2, or Beulah Alliance Building Fund.
