Ollie Letersky Obituary
On September 2, 2011, Ollie Letersky passed peacefully at the University Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
Ollie was born in Sheho, Saskatchewan, and in her late teens moved to Edmonton, where she met and married the love of her life, Mike. They lived in Bowden, then relocated to Edmonton, where they raised their five children.
Ollie had many talents and her creativity knew no bounds. She loved to sew, garden and was a master in the kitchen, and the countless family gatherings in her home were enjoyed by all.
Ollies greatest passion was music, and her home was always filled with the sounds of a guitar, piano, violin or her beautiful singing voice. With her husband, Mike, she travelled as far away as Japan, Korea, Europe and South America. She was a faithful and active volunteer at St. Basils Cultural Centre. Ollie was admired for her elegance, charm and gentle nature. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy.
She is survived by Michael (Mike), her loving husband of 62 years; her five children, Ellie (Michael) Bodnaruk, Wayne (Debbie) Letersky, Carrie (Chris) Nall, Dawne (Tony) Tripodi, and Laurie (Dale) Miller; thirteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Divine Liturgy Friday, September 9 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Basils Ukrainian Catholic Church, 7007 - 109 Street. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Alberta & NWT, 10531 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5H 4K1.

Dear Dawne, Laurie, Carrie and family - So sad to hear about your mother. I was driving around the old neighbourhood a week or two ago. I drove past Terrace Heights and your house and remembered all the good times spent there. I always felt welcome . You have a wonderful family.

Mike
We spent 10+ years as your next door neighbours. You and Ollie were instrumental in acting a roll models for both Brian and I in how to live your life and how to love your family. I will remember Ollie with her soft caring nature. She always amazed me as she was always dressed as if she was ready to go out to a formal event all the time. Her pride in herself, and her home never went unnoticed. Your dedication to her in visiting her every day once she had to leave your care at home was above and beyond.
