We met Bill at Canterbury whle my Dad (Roy Zipse) lived there. Bill and Dad were friends from their 30+ years working for the E.T.S. and we all had lots of visits during the 5 years Dad resided there. Bill usually jumped and clicked his heels together for me. We were at the Log Cabin for an ETS Christmas party with Charlie Valentine (another ETS retiree living at Canterbury) and visited with Bill and Helen. Also there was an out trip to ride the rail bus across the High Level. I mentioned it to Bill and he said give me 5 minutes and he was back with his official radial conductor's cap and spent the whole trip up front with the operator. What a happy man and a gentleman. We are sorry he is no longer with us. Donna & Ken Bendle

It was a pleasure to have worked with Bill, he was always very pleasant and kind to me when I first started driving with E.T.S.

I knew Bill from 1974 onwards, with E.T.S, and then with The Edmonton Radial Railway Society. Bill always had a new story to tell in the lunch room at Fort Edmonton Park carbarn. He was always cheerful, lifted peoples spirits when he was around. He will be missed.

Bill was our next door neighbor for over 35 years; We don't think it would be possible to ever know a nicer fellow.

It was my pleasure to have worked with Bill for many years at E.T.S. While a member of the sheet committee checking the operator Signup or representing the members of Local 569 on the accident review board Bill always approached each task with the same open minded and fair thought for those he represented. I have nothing but respect for Bill. A huge hole has been created by his loss.
The world would be a much better place with more Bill Maclean's
