Dr. Anthony Blunden

BLUNDEN, Dr. Anthony (Tony) Gerald April 6, 1930 - January 9, 2009 With heavy hearts the family announce the passing of Tony Blunden 78, of Edmonton. He was born in Eaton, England and was the son of the late Hilda and Frank Blunden and brother to late sister Dafney. A passion for healing led him to a successful career as a physician where he started practicing at the Norwood Professional Clinic in 1954. He then practiced in the Kingsway Professional Center and moved to the Hys Center before retiring in 2003. He cared mainly for the elderly and touched the lives of many patients and their family members over the years. He is survived by his long time companion Carol Kostiniuk and first wife Penelope (Pop) Day, their four children and seven grandchildren, son Kelly and his wife Donie with children Tia and Keegan of Whistler B.C., son Kim and his wife Arlene with children Jerry and Greg of Dawson Creek; daughter Karen and her husband Quentin with children Meegan, Katie, and Austin of Pouce Coupe B.C. and son Crispin of Pouce Coupe, BC. He also leaves behind countless friends, colleagues and former patients. A Memorial Service will be held at Howard & McBride Chapel of Chimes (10179-108th Street) on Wednesday, January 14th at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please take a friend to lunch, drop in on an elderly person or spend some time with a child to keep the passion that he had for the well being of others alive.
