Dear Herbie, Matthew, Susie, Barb, Gabrielle & Family: Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of your Mother. I have many fond memories of her during the times I would visit Susie at your house in Lendrum Place, during the years Susie and I attended Avalon Junior High School. Her wise advise she gave me at the age of 13, has remained with me for life. I always admired her for her strength of character, resilience and good nature, especially in view of the fact she was so relatively young when your father, Heinrich died so suddenly that changed her life and all of yours, forever. It was a tremendous challenge for her to raise 5 children on her own at such a young age as she was at the time and especially being in a foreign country like Canada, away from most of her family who remained in Germany. Her extraordinary talent as an artist and memories of her pleasant demeanor is something that I will remember her most for. My thoughts & prayers are with you all. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

When I met you I was in grade 5, and you saw something in me that I couldn't. You took me into your beautiful world of art and laughter and generosity and made my life better. Now I am a 44 year old mother of 2 and my art is still important to me, as is sharing laughter and love. Nothing can come close to you Edith - you blessed this world with every moment you were in it. I wish your family peace and comfort -

Colin and Crystal will forever remember Edith Eichner as their inspiration for art, cooking, especially her Saturday soup after art class, and her love for everyone. Her smile and laughter brought such joy and comfort to each person and you were always the center of her attention even in a full room of people. Oh how we will miss her. Behold Eichner family, children, grandchildren, siblings, may the Lord comfort you with knowing one day you'll be joined together in heaven. May the days present be filled with love and comfort of family and friends. Allan and I bless you in the name of Jesus.

We will hold in our hearts forever, the image of the beautiful, vibrant, bouncy, smiley faced, open armed, welcoming Edith Eichner moving through dense noisy crowds gleefully singing out the names of the people she recognized and loved and her excitedly rushing toward them prepping her warm embrace. We were blessed to be one of them and our names sung in the lilting E.E. way will remain a precious memory for always. Rest peacefully beautiful lady... Be young, dancing, singing and creating again for heavenly purpose. With love always, Armin & Gloria Mantei.

I'm so very sorry to hear of the passing of dear Mrs Eichner. I was Mrs Eichner's art student and I loved her dearly. Mrs Eichner loved her students and believed in everyone of us. I remember how she made us close our eyes and visualize what we wanted to paint, her amazing homemade soup and how she scooped our icecream with a butter knife. What a one of a kind person who will never be forgotten. Rest in peace my dear friend. Xo
