Con Boland Obituary
He had a "colourful" history, but the man behind the "colour" is who we lovingly remember. Con, who planted over 160 trees to ensure children who attend Riverdale School would have a beautiful, natural environment surrounding them. Con, the philanthropist who annually supported over 60 charities. Con who used his Facebook page to create social awareness and start a conversation about difficult and unpopular issues. Con Boland, a staunch environmentalist, a talented musician and a gifted photographer.
His most recent goal was to build an eco friendly home. Although there was much controversy surrounding this project, Con never gave up and today, this amazing structure stands as testimony to his tenacity and determination.
Con Boland genuinely saw life through a "lens"... all of life... because when one looks through a lens, life stops and you really notice. He saw love... he saw innocence... he saw discrimination... he saw poverty... he saw, and experienced, what he felt was social injustice. He was a devoted husband and steadfast friend. Con was a seeker of beauty in all things and that, is how he will be remembered.
A celebration of Con's life will be announced at a later date.

It is always very hard to say Goodbye to someone who has been a good friend for so long. I never did get o er to visit your new digs, Con. My deepest condolences. Con and I met only once, when I was looking for a home-he gave me a comprehensive tour of his yet unfinished home and then invited me over to his other home and showed me his art and his beautiful garden - time just flew by. What a genuine human being who I am honoured to have met.

You left us so suddenly. Too young to go. You will be missed by many- your lively, energetic intelligent personality will be remembered by me. Your music will calm me as i listen. Con brought a strong spirit to everything he pursued. His gardens, his dinner parties, his new home, his photographic skills brought a new beauty to the eyes of those who knew him. His support of environmental issues was genuine and inspiring. RIP in the Gardens of Heaven.

My deepest condolences to Rose at this time. Con will be deeply remembered by myself and my mother Heather. He was the first photographer to take my moms portrait back in the early 70's. I still have the portrait hanging in my home. He and I have crossed paths throughout his life. He has been very supportive in my life being professional and personal. He will be missed.
