Obituary

Airman Cameron Scott Walters, 21, was born June 16, 1998 in Savannah, Georgia. Amongst two other American heroes, he lost his life on December 6, 2019 at NAS Pensacola. Cameron never met a stranger. He was always smiling and lit up any room he walked into. Cameron was a graduate of Effingham County High School, and recently enlisted in the United States Navy.
Cameron is survived by his father, Shane Michaels Walters, mother, Amanda Paige Walters, stepmother, Heather Lea Walters; brothers, Dustin Beaux Walters, Mason Shane Walters, and Evan Joseph Gay; sisters, Lily Nicole Walters, Shania Lea Walters, and Darian Marie Gay. He also leaves behind grandparents, Johnnie Jeanette Hatcher, Rita Williams, Lance and Cherry Ward, Sandy Ward, and Marie Coleman. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Cameron was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Semi Lamar Hatcher and his paternal grandfather, Rodney Jagneaux.
A Homecoming Procession was conducted as as his body was returned to Richmond Hill on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, around 1 p.m. Cameron's life was celebrated at Compassion Christian Church on Monday, Dec. 16, 2019.
