Lynn was born in Savannah on Dec. 5, 1956, to David Eli Bozeman and Sarah Helen Mims. Mrs. Griggs grew up in Springfield and had many happy activities at Springfield Baptist Church and shopping on Broughton Street in Savannah. She also enjoyed many family vacations on Jekyll Island.
As a young girl, she asked Jesus to be Lord of her life and she lived out her life fully trusting Him. She graduated from Effingham County High School in 1974. She was mother to two loving children to carry her memory: Adam Griggs and Ashley Pierce. She was a devoted and doting grandmother to her precious grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She worked as a dedicated employee of the Webster County School District with a lifelong love of learning and reading that she passed to her children and her grandchildren. Her selfless acts of kindness as a member of the Phoebe Sumter Auxiliary Pink Ladies was felt by the many people whom she met. She could also be seen every Sunday beside her husband in the pews of Preston Baptist Church and serving beside her many friends in the community. She fought cancer and its effects valiantly for 16 years, always with her sweet smile and a kind heart, never complaining and always with her husband fighting by her side.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, David Eli Bozeman and Sarah Helen Bozeman of Plains; parents-in-law, James Marvin Griggs Sr. and Eunice Griggs of Plains; an uncle, Elliot Anderson of Plains,; and sister and brother-in-law, Robert and Gail Alston of Plains.
