RINCON - Una A. Usher, 86, passed away Oct. 31, 2020, at The Oaks in Pooler.
The Effingham County native was a member of First Baptist Church of Rincon and the Fidelis Sunday School class. She retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Mrs. Usher was a fine pianist who played for many different churches during her lifetime, as well as at The Oaks. She was an expert quilter and was active in the Quilters Guild.
An avid traveler, she and her late husband, Lawrence, took many journeys together, and helped with transportation for seniors groups for their church. Her travels continued for the remainder of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Lester Archer and Frankie Lee Archer; husband, Lawrence Burns Usher; and sister, Grace Usher.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynda Osborne (William); son, Raymond E. Firkins (Rebecca); and grandchildren, Katherine Daniel, Kristen Daniel, and Kaelyn Osborne.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Rincon.
Internment in Beaufort National Cemetery was private.
