Lawrence Rovelstad Obituary

Rovelstad, Lawrence Arthur Age 78, of Mercer, WI passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011 following a long illness. Larry was born in Elgin, IL on December 17, 1932, the son of Robert and Tillie Rovelstad. Larry graduated from Elgin High School in Elgin, IL in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army for eight years, as was deployed to Austria where he served in the ski patrol. Following his honorable discharge, Larry enrolled in jewelers college and worked in the Rovelstad's family jewelry store. Larry also worked at the family owned diner, Robert's Drive-In, in Geneva, IL. Larry completed his career at Nabisco Co. in Naperville, IL before his retirement in 1987. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Ruth Ann (nee Feece); one brother, Robert of Edgerton, WI; two daughters, Lauren Nolan and Kathy (Ken) McNeil both of Geneva, IL; his loving grandchildren, Chad Nelson, Caysea and Ferris Nolan and Kyle and Matthew McNeil all of Geneva, IL and a great grandson, Myles Nelson. Larry will also be missed by his many northwoods friends and neighbors. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, David Rovelstad; his son-in-law Peter Nolan; and his grandson, Johnathon McNeil. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mercer Area Ambulance and Rescue, P.O. Box 409, Mercer, WI 54547. Bolger Funeral Home is assisting the family, 715-356-3200.
