Robert G. Strong, 75, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on February 25, 2014 in the presence of his loving family. Robert is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Maria A. (Zavala) Strong of 49 years. Robert was born in the Bronx, New York, along with his brother Thomas Strong, to George and Marie Strong. Robert attended Manhattan College where he received a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. He worked as an accountant in El Paso, Texas and eventually ran his own restaurant supply business, which he truly enjoyed. Robert was extremely loving and proud of his two sons, George and his wife Isela Strong of Toronto, Canada; Robert and his wife Martha Strong of El Paso, Texas; as well as his daughter Mary and her husband John Quirke of County Cork, Ireland. He truly loved and enjoyed his grandchildren Gina, Abraham, Sheldon, Madeline, Abel, Daniel, Chris, Bobby, David, Michael and Eamon, and great grandchild Levi. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 4:00 PM at the Mt. Carmel Funeral Home, 1755 N. Zaragosa, El Paso, Texas. A funeral mass for Robert will be held on March 3, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 8600 Winchester Road, El Paso, Texas.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me".
