Maria Montes Yañez, 86, fell asleep at Mt. Villa Nursing Facility and woke up in the arms of Jesus on November 4, 2012. She is survived by her six children Estela Ramirez, Dora Celia (William) Pereira, Lydia Oaxaca, Luis (Katheleen) Yañez, Patricio Alonzo (Ester) Yañez and Mario Yañez, 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, her brothers Julian (Juanita) Montes and Salvador (Maria Elena) Montes, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. ¡Era la ultima de las muy mujeres! A special thanks to the staff of Bienvivir S. H. S., Eden Assisted Living and Mt. Villa Nursing Facility. Visitation will be from 4-9 Friday (11/9) with recitation of the rosary at 7 at Perches Funeral Home East, 2280 Joe Battle Blvd. Funeral mass will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 2709 Alabama, at 9 a.m. Saturday (11/10). Interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

My heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with my entire family during this very difficult time. Our Tia Maria was a woman of great character; never a dull moment with her.
