On February 8, 2014 God saw it fit to call home one of his children, our beloved Graciela Chavez at the age of 57. She was born July 22, 1956 in El Paso, Texas. She is preceded in death by her mother Lidia Loera Chavez Martinez and her father Manuel Chavez Jr. Gracie is survived by her step father Frank Martinez and her 7 siblings: Jesus D. Chavez, Belinda C. Hernandez, Ricardo Chavez, Twinkle Chavez Arellano, Sylvia Chavez, Carlos Martinez and Miguel Martinez. She also leaves behind 17 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews who will remember the joy and love that she always had for them. She was always surrounded by family and friends that in some way had touched their lives. She had a gentle smile that melted our hearts and her infectious laugh that brighten our day. Gracie possessed many traits her strength, perseverance, determination, fearlessness, intelligence and unconditional loving self is what made her so unique. In spite of all obstacles she had occurred she was all heart and proof on how courageous she was. Our beautiful angel has led us to believe that each day is a blessing and taught us how precious time we have with one another. So cherish all the memories and the love she had for all we will hold it dear to our hearts. We know that she has been granted her wings, for now she is soaring up above watching over her loved ones. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at Monday, February 17, 2014 at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Tuesday , February 18, 2014 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will take place at a late date.
