Jacinto (Jay) Romo, 89, passed away peacefully at his home on June 15, 2013. He was a lifelong resident of El Paso and member of the Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his wife Aurora B. Romo. Mr. Romo is survived by his sons Gilbert and Patrick Romo and daughter Bernadette Gutierrez (Mike). He is also survived by his sisters Ernestina Romo Newton, Rosa M. Romo Sanchez (Reynaldo), Concepcion Romo Colon and Martha Roa Callaway. Our beloved Tata is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Tata loved his country and proudly served in the U. S. Army during WWII. His valiant service earned him a Silver Star, Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. After retirement he volunteered much of his time helping his fellow veterans. He received the Michael Petricko Volunteer Service Officer Award and recognition from both the Texas State Senate and U. S. Senate. We will miss our father, grandfather, brother, Hero and friend. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 20, 2013 at Crestview Funeral Home from 8:30am to 12:30 p.m. with Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services are under the direction of CRESTVIEW FUNERAL HOME 1462 N. Zaragosa 856-1400.
