My deepest condolences to you, my dear Carla, and to Enrique's family. I barely learned of his passing today, October 21. I feel your pain, and both you and him were always in my daily prayers. My sympathy extends to his family as well. What a great man he was; I am sure our Lord received him with open arms. You, Carla, and his family are in my thoughts and prayers. God be with you!!!!

To Enrique's family, I give you my most heartfelt condolences. I somberly, but very fondly, recall the first time Enrique and I enjoyed our first one-on-one lunch together, many years ago, at a local restaurant he had suggested called Cafe Central. A connection and mutual respect for each other blossomed that day....the beginning of a friendship partly built on common values and outlooks; it was a very pleasant relationship secured by a mutual trust. Enrique was first, and foremost, a true gentleman and a lawyer's lawyer. To many, he was, among other things, a kind and wise mentor, a voice of hope and vision, an unwavering champion of people's rights, a passionate knight for justice, an overall exemplary professional and human being, a faithful friend, and a man who loved his family dearly. In short, he was an exemplary and honorable man. I bow my head before our Heavenly Father, who I know has welcomed Enrique home. With a lovingly embrace, I envision our Heavenly Father embracing Enrique with a bear hug unlike any other Enrique has ever experienced. In His loving arms, our Father cradles Enrique so lovingly and tenderly as He whispers to Him, "Bienvenido Enrique, my son. You are now home with Me, the One who called you by name before you were born. There will no longer be any pain or discomfort. No suffering. No restless nights. No worries. No unhappiness. No wants. No needs. I gift to you eternal life. Forever you will be at peace and in complete happiness in the rapture of my eternal love for you. You may gaze down from the window of your heavenly dwelling, and with a smile look over those dearest to your heart and soul." And so, with my head bowed, I exclaim, "Amen. Yes, I believe."
