Daniel Jason Margrave Obituary
Daniel Jason Margrave, beloved son of Janet Newsom and Audie Margrave, adored by sister Cristal Margrave, passed away January 2, 2019 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by his family. He was dearly loved by his grandmother Betty Newsom, Aunt Carole (Newsom) and Uncle Bruce Naasz, Uncles Clint and Charlie Newsom, Uncle Mike and Aunt Janna Margrave, Aunt Suze (Margrave) Clark, and cousins Matthew and Carrie Welch, Clint, Dean, and Maggie Newsom, Claire (Newsom) and William Alberson, and Hayley Naasz. Daniel was blessed to have many friends and work colleagues who knew him as a kind and caring man. He graduated from Coronado High School, where he played in the marching band. At UTEP he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and his MBA. He was active for many years in the El Paso Society for Human Resources (EPSHRM) and taught business courses at University of Phoenix and UTEP. He worked in the field of Human Resources his entire career, distinguishing himself as a compassionate problem solver, and was named 2018 EPSHRM Professional of the Year. Daniel greatly valued his friends and always helped them however he could. He was a lifelong fan of Star Trek, Transformers movies, Golden Girls reruns, and Bob's Burgers. But above all, Daniel was kind, considerate, and well-mannered to everyone. For these things he will be most missed. Daniel's family is grateful to Drs. Aduroja and Catinella of Texas Tech Physicians for their assistance and compassion, the awesome ER and third floor staffs at Providence Transmountain Hospital for their caring and concern, and to Hospice El Paso. And to all who contributed food, flowers, remembrances, tributes, and donations, a very special thank you. We are grateful beyond words for the many kindnesses shown to us in Daniel's honor, just as he demonstrated toward others throughout his life. All are invited to his Memorial Service at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 19, 2019 at University Presbyterian Church, 244 N. Resler Drive, El Paso, Texas.
