Harold Boyd Curry
July 16, 1920 - August 5, 2018
El Paso, Texas

Harold passed away after a short hospitalization, at the age of 98. He was born in Delight, Arkansas, and grew up and graduated from in school in Dierks, Arkansas. He served in combat in WWII, with the 102d Infantry Division and also served in during the Korean Conflict. He completed his 20 year career in the US Army as a Chief Warrant Officer CW-3. He then worked at the El Paso 5 Points Sears store, where he managed the hardware department for many years.
He was one of two children born to the late Gus & Clinnie Curry, and was the beloved husband of Florence for over 74 years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ted. Harold will be remembered forever by his sons, Ronald and Jerry Curry; his grandchildren, Glenn Curry, Christine Golden, and Zachary Curry; great-grandchildren, Briargate & Sebastian Curry; as well as countless other friends who were privileged to know him.
Harold was an avid fisherman and hunter, a passion that started in his teens, while living in Arkansas, where he provided wild game to the family table during the Great Depression. He also built fine cabinetry - both as a lifelong hobby, and as a part-time profession following his retirement. Many will also remember his annual pecan harvest from the trees on his residence.
Born into the generation of the greatest Americans, he was independent to the end. Interment will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
