Obituary Condolences

JoAnn Pressley went home to be with the Lord on September 25, 2013, surrounded by her adored family until the end. Born on September 13, 1938, in Kemp, OK, raised in Denison, TX and lived in El Paso for the last 50+ years. As a devoted Wife and Mother, she worked as a secretary at Harding Orr & McDaniel in El Paso and a member of Eastwood Church of Christ. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi/Laureot Epsilon Psi Sorority and volunteered in many different community opportunities. Those who were blessed to have her in their life knew that she was a wonderful woman who embodied strength and kindness. Joann always had time to help those in need. She was an extremely active member of her sorority club, church and community while always being the epitome of southern hospitality and class. We will never forget the lessons that she taught us throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years; Perry, parents; W.W. and Annie Elrod as well as all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons; Shaun Pressley and his wife, Amy, and Kevin Hubby and his wife, Wendy, grandchildren; Bethany Berkseth and husband Ryan, Sherry Hubby, Kimberly Hubby, Tyler Pressley and Kyle Pressley, great-grandchildren; Ava Berkseth and Asher Berkseth, all of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by her adopted daughter, Hilda Salazar of El Paso, adopted grandchildren; Yadira Salazar Al-Sabah of Kuwait City, Kuwait, Jacqui Salazar of Austin, TX, and Pablo Salazar of El Paso. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces. She will always live on in our lives with her legacy of unconditional kindness to all. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at San Jose Funeral Home (East) from 5pm to 9pm. Minister Charles Clodfelter will be officiating services. Graveside service will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, October 1, 2013, at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Christian Schools of El Paso, contact (915) 593-5011.
