El Paso - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary R. Santiago, affectionately known as "Monin", a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and friend. Our beloved Mary left us while sleeping peacefully at her daughter's house in Albuquerque, New Mexico on April 8, 2021. Mary was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on November 1, 1923. She loved to cook, dance, entertain guests, and always took pride in keeping an immaculate house. Mary treasured her family and friends and embraced every moment she shared with them. Most of all, she instilled strong values in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; values that have served and will continue to serve them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband Angel Bermudez Santiago, her parents: father Juan R. Rivera, mother Francisca, and sister Aida Santoro. She is survived by her children, sons: William Santiago and wife Lucy, and Edwin Santiago and wife Linda, and daughter: Eileen Martinez and husband William. Mary also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren, ten loving great grandchildren, and an extended family to forever cherish her legacy. Gathering of Remembrance will be from 12:00 - 1:30 PM, on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Committal Service will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Con profunda tristeza anunciamos el fallecimiento de Mary R. Santiago, cariñosamente conocida como ""Monin"". Fue una esposa, madre, hija, abuela, hermana y amiga amorosa y devota. Nuestra amada Mary nos dejó mientras dormía plácidamente en la casa de su hija en Albuquerque, Nuevo México el 8 de abril del 2021. Mary nació en Ponce, Puerto Rico el 1 de noviembre de 1923. Le encantaba cocinar, bailar, entretener a los invitados y siempre se enorgullecía de mantener un casa impecable. Mary apreciaba a su familia y amigos y abrazó cada momento que compartía con ellos. Sobre todo, inculcó fuertes valores en sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos; valores que les han servido y seguirán sirviéndoles bien. Ella será profundamente echada de menos y estará eternamente en nuestros corazones. Mary es precedida en muerte por su amado esposo Ángel Bermúdez Santiago, por sus padres Juan R. Rivera y Francisca y su hermana Aida Santoro. Le sobreviven sus hijos: William Santiago y su esposa Lucy, y Edwin Santiago y su esposa Linda, y su hija Eileen Martínez y su esposo William. Mary también deja a sus cuatro amados nietos, sus diez queridos bisnietos y una familia extensa que apreciará su legado para siempre. La Reunión de Recuerdo será de 12:00 p.m. a 1:30 p.m. el viernes 30 de abril del 2021 en Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast, en el 4631 Hondo Pass.
