William Jeffrey Demarest

El Paso - WILLIAM JEFFREY "JEFF" DEMAREST age 74, oldest son of seven children, passed away March 24, 2021, after a long battle with numerous illnesses. Jeff was born in Chicago, IL to Bill and Josephine Demarest, August 25, 1946. After the family relocated to El Paso, Jeff graduated in the top ten of his class from Jesuit High School, obtained his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at El Paso, and his law degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Rosalyn Demarest Rupp, and his nephew Cody Demarest. He is survived by his brothers Scott (Becky) Demarest, and Bob (Barbara) Demarest, and his sisters JoEllen (Jay) Nye, Susan Flynn, and Cindy (Jay) Schroeder, and his best friend Jimmy Lang. He is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews.

Jeff was definitely a child of the 60's and although he had his law degree he didn't limit himself to the practice of law, instead he led a rather eclectic life, as the owner/operator of Wee Tam Head Shop, world traveler, survivor of a small plane crash in the hill country of Texas, avid canoer and spent his final work years as a CNC computerized punch press programmer and operator in Providence, Rhode Island. In fact, if you let him, he would spend hours telling you stories of all his adventures.

Memorial services will be held at La Paz Graham Funeral Home Friday April 9, 2021 at 2:00 PM, at his request cremation has taken place.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of La Paz - Graham's Funeral Home 555 West Amador, Las Cruces NM 88005.

So sorry to learn of your passing, Jeff. It seems that the members of our Jesuit HIgh School Class of '64 literally spread around the globe over the years and we seldom saw each other. But I have some fine memories of you. Rest in peace, old friend.
