GALLARDO Our beloved brother and uncle, Julio A. Gallardo, 52, born in El Paso, TX, June 26, 1958 was embraced by God's loving arms on Wednesday, February 9, 2011. Julio was surrounded by his family and friends that loved him dearly. He was the son of the late Maria Estela Gallardo and David Gallardo. He graduated from Ysleta High School in 1976 and was recognized in the all the district, all city and all region conferences in basketball and continued onto Western New Mexico University and achieved Honorable Mention All-American and preceded to Western Texas Jr. College and later attended Baylor University. All of his accomplishments came with reward when he played 15 years in the Mexican League won ten Championships, was in the Puerto-Rican Superior League and a member of Four National Championship Team as well as the Mexican Olympic Team. In 1999 he was inducted into the hall of fame by the Latinos in Action Sports Association. All of his adventures and travels around the world shaped the unique and great individual that he was and we will dearly miss all of the stories he shared with us and cherish all the memories. His passion was coaching others while teaching at Eastwood Middle School. Left to cherish his memory are his brothers; Salvador, (Dora+), David (Bertha), Gilbert (Rose) Frank, sisters; Estela Gallardo, Loretto Cuellar (Jesus), Monika Diaz (Javier), and Alicia Guevara (Raphael), other survivors include his 17 nieces, nephews and numerous friends' all around the world. Mr. Julio Gallardo's visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephens Catholic Church (1700 George Dieter). Interment will be at a later date. Pallbearers; Frank Gallardo, David Gallardo, Glvert Gallardo, Frank Gallardo Jr., Javier Diaz, Jesus Cuellar, Hector Muñoz and Eusebio Ramirez.
