Obituary Condolences

BROWN Our Heavenly Father has called home one of his angels. Laverne Ellen Miller Brown, beloved wife, mother, sister and most of all friend, was called home on March 3, 2012. Laverne was born on February 10, 1952 to Willie Lee and Mary D. Miller in El Paso, Texas. She attended Hacienda Heights Elementary School and Bel Air High School. She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Later she united with Mt. Olive Baptist Church for a number of years and reunited with Mt. Zion in 2010 where she worked faithfully with the Hospitality and Sunday school departments. She worked as a daycare provider and an adult caregiver after her own children were grown. She was preceded in death by her parents, and granddaughter Terica Brown. Laverne is survived by husband of nearly forty years, Aaron Brown; Three daughters: Tracie Pepen (Manuel), Dina Lawson, and Erica Cannon (Don); Grandchildren: Shanice (Manwell), Devin, DeVantre, Ayzia, Imani, Jordan, Michael, and DeVina; Brother: William Miller, (Lurline); Sisters: Doris Gary, Dorothy Johnson, (Fredrick) and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins. Our Mother never met a stranger and showed a genuine love for everyone. She will be greatly missed The celebration of her life will began Thursday, March 8th at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 N. Zaragoza, El Paso, Texas. Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. until 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be on Friday, March 9th at 11:00 a.m. At the Mt. Zion Baptist Church 3400 Wyoming Street.
