ERNIE ESCOBEDO Obituary

Ernie Escobedo, Sr., age 57, retired Correctional Officer of FCI La Tuna and Veteran of the United States Air Force, passed away on Father's Day June 17, 2012, following a courageous battle with Diabetes. He was born March 21, 1955, in El Paso, TX, to Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Escobedo. Ernie Sr. attended Ysleta High School and the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War as a Jet Engine Mechanic, during which he married his high school sweetheart, Susan C. Guillen in El Paso, TX. Ernie Sr. is survived by his loving wife, Susan, his three sons; Eric Lee, Ernie Jr., and Rene, one beautiful granddaughter, Kailey Renee "My Princess"; both parents, Mr. & Mrs. R.J. Escobedo; his Father in law, Mr. Aurelio Guillen, five brothers and two sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his Mother in Law, Mrs. Rosa Guillen and his beautiful guardian angel and daughter, Yvette Suzanne. Rosary services for Ernie Escobedo, Sr. will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday June 21, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Homes-East, 750 N. Carolina. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday June 22, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Homes-East with burial services following at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Please visit on-line register book at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.

Father, mentor,and my best friend! Tears keep running down my face but what keeps me going is knowing that you are no longer suffering. You passed away in my arms as i gave you a kiss on your forehead. I will never forget that moment. So many people loved you and cared for you. I will leave it at this... Father this is not a good bye but we will see you later!!! Our Kailey Renee Escobedo Loves Her PAPPA!!! We miss you.
