Robert Earl Nappier Sr., 82, St. Clair, departed this life Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, in Sullivan.
Robert was born Feb. 7, 1938, in Gray Summit, the son of Earl Rippee Nappier and wife Berthania, nee Beamon. On Dec. 26, 1958, he was united in marriage to Merrylee Bell, and three children came to bless this union.
Robert was a Christian, having been raised in the Baptist faith and believing in the Lord as his Savior. He was a member and retiree of Operating Engineers Local 513, in St. Louis. Throughout his working career, he worked as an operating engineer on jobs throughout the St. Louis area. In his younger years, he enjoyed spending time on the river. He loved being at home with his family and working in his yard. The time spent with his family and the many precious memories they created will be cherished by all of them forever.
Robert is survived by his sons, Robert E. Nappier Jr., Bourbon, and Aaron Nappier, St. Clair; his daughter, Toni Gacich and husband Tom, St. Clair; seven brothers, Tom Nappier and friend Yvonne, Potosi, Jerry Nappier and wife Renda, Putman, Okla., Glenn Nappier, Union, Carl Nappier, Gerald, Ronnie Nappier and wife Wilma, Catawissa, Dale Nappier and wife Donna, and Benjamin Nappier and wife Gwen, all of Union; his sisters, Karan Jacobs and husband Dennis, Washington, and Ruby DeWald, Boulder City, Nev.; his grandchildren, Ian and Alex Gacich, both of St. Clair; two brothers-n-law; one sister-in-law; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Merrylee Nappier; his parents, Robert and Berthania Nappier; and one brother, Gail Nappier.
A private committal will take place at a later date at Fisher Cemetery, St. Clair.
The family of Robert Nappier Sr. entrusted the care of their loved one to Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
