De'Andrye Henderson Obituary
On February 21, 2015, in the presence of his loving family, De'Andrye Marquayl Henderson, Sr. transitioned from this world of gloom, pain and sorrow. to the celestial shores of Heaven. to a home where there is peace, joy, and love. On the wings of an angel who came to take him home, he flew away to be at rest. De'Andrye "Dee" was born on September 30, 1993, in Erie, PA., the younger of two sons born to Tina Sansom and Andre Henderson, Sr.
Dee graduated from Jefferson Elementary in 2008 and Strong Vincent High School in 2012. He was a great athlete, excelling in both football and basketball at Strong Vincent. He attended Mercyhurst North East on a basketball scholarship from 2012 to 2014. He was in the process of returning to school, but according to Psalm 139: 15-16, when God formed De'Andrye in his mother's womb, he also numbered his days, and so it was preordained that on February 21, 2015, Dee would be coming to his eternal home.
He has many loved ones there waiting to welcome him home. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Sansom, Sr.; great-grandparents, Alfred and Minnie Sansom, Sr., and Bertha Mooney; uncles, William Sansom, Jr. and Darrell Henderson; cousins, Alfred Sansom III, Jeffrey Sansom, LaQuala Walker; and a special cousin, Rashid Anderson.
He is survived by his parents, Tina Sansom and Andre Henderson; a daughter, De'Asyia M. Henderson; a son, De'Andrye M. Henderson, Jr.; grandmothers, Dilcy Sansom and Gloria Brodie (James); a special nephew, Dae'Waun, Jr., whom he was helping raise; great-grandparents, Fred and Jannie Morgan; brothers, Dae'Waun Henderson, Sr., Andre Henderson, Jr. (Ashley), Tony Henderson, Melvin Henderson, Sr., Marquise Henderson, Sr., Dondre Henderson, Teon Carr, and Peris Henderson; sisters, Dominique Selby, Iyanna Henderson, Yamilet Henderson, Sariya Henderson, and Ashley Boyd; his girlfriend and mother of his children, Raejshaunlim Williams; Godmothers, Jennifer Hall and Alicia Reid; Godsister, Jamaica Jones; Godbrother, Chad E. Duck, Jr; Goddaughter, Shaniyah Henderson; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Friends and family may call on Friday, February 27 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, and are invited to attend services there on Saturday beginning at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
