My sincere condolences to Larry's Family. Larry was always a "Good Sport" as well as a terrific sportsman. We graduated together from Academy HS in 1964. May all your memories help ease the sorrow at this difficult time.

As a classmate of Larry's at Academy, I had the benefit of being in Larry's world. And he did own it. He was tall, soft spoken, handsome, and a gifted athlete. What else could a 17 year old want? I moved away after high school so never saw Larry again. But I'm not surprised that he remained self confident and was well loved. Erie is a lesser place without him.

I and the Academy High School class of 1964 extend our deepest sympathy to Larry's family on his passing. Larry was a tremendous athlete at Academy, particularly in basketball, and has left us with many great memories. I will never forget the great teams that he played on with Bob Thomas, Walt Crosby, Freddy Williams, Erwin Reid, Ev Williams, Dave Stingl and others, and all those thrilling nights at the Gannon Auditorium watching him and his teammates play. His obituary in the Erie Times was heartwarming and wonderful, as nice an obituary as I've ever seen written. God bless Larry and all of you. Although he is no longer with us, he will always be a part of us, and will live on in our hearts and memories.
Sincerely,
Chuck Pora, Academy 1964
