John Applebee Obituary
John was the son of Donald Sr., and Judith Williams Applebee of Erie. He was a graduate of Mercyhurst College. He was a substance abuse counselor for over 20 years. John was a well known and respected member of the community.
John is survived by his wife Marybeth Visnoski Applebee and their five children, Leah, Andrew, Samuel, Jacob and Joseph, all of Erie. He is further survived by his three brothers, Donald Applebee Jr., and his wife Sarah of Tucson, Ariz., Michael Applebee and his wife Carol of Alaska, and Thomas Applebee and his wife Cindy of Erie, one sister Erin Applebee and her friend Rob Preedit of Millcreek, his nieces Cristen, Ashley and special niece Kelsey Applebee and nephew Frank Applebee.

I just learned of John's passing from the Mercyhurst newsletter. I'm so sorry for your family's great loss. I remember John's big smile and heart while at the Hurst. May he rest in peace and may your memories bring you comfort. God Bless his children for he was taken from them much too soon.

I was surprised and saddened to hear of John's passing. I have not seen him in 35 years, so I still remember him as a skinny kid with little football ability and a huge heart. I remember fondly coaching all the Applebees and John was truly a pleasure to work with. Heartfelt condolences to his wife and kids and the entire family.

Erin and The Applebee Family, We would like to send our sympathy. I remember, John as a brother I never had,growing up he would always look out for us by all of the times of teaching us,caring and all the wonderful memories we can keep in hearts forever!!! I will not forget the time he took us to Waldameer, we had so much fun and he did not let us out of his sight!!! He always had a smile on his face and if he saw us he would take the time to talk and always asked, "how is the family doing and never let us down!!! I rememner when he was in his cap and gown the day he gradusatedd from college and he wanted a picture of Erin and I!!! I will always remember John (he spent alot of time with us!!! And took us for a ride in his motor cycle and made sure we had a helmet on and he always was teaching us about so many things!!!) We are ALWAYS GOING TO REMEMBER HIM, AS "A FUN LOVING, CARING, AND KNOW HE IS LOOKING DOWN ON US!!! He will always, "be in our hearts and was very positive, he never be forgotten!!!" He was very loving and special to all of us!!! If you ever need to talk please get a hold of me!!! He was the best "BIG BROTHER!!!" I cannot explain in words on the loss!!! GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU!!! I am so sorry to read of Johnny's passing. I will always have great memories of him and all the Applebee's. You guys were truly a great part of our neighborhood.
