Kenneth W. Kachline, 88, of Palmer Twp., passed away Friday, October 12, 2012 in Easton Hospital. Born: November 15, 1923, in Nazareth, he was a son of the late Rollin and Mary E. Hess Kachline. Personal: He and his wife, the former Betty Marie Young, celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on March 30, 2012. Ken retired in 1981 from Harris Intertype Corporation, previously, Sheridan Machine Company, where he worked for 35 years. He graduated from Nazareth High School. He served with the Navy during World War II with the Amphibious Scouts & Raiders, now the Navy Seals, in the European and Southwest Pacific areas. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Ken enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time at his cabin in the Poconos. Memberships: He was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church. He was also a member of Easton Lodge 152, F & AM; Lehigh Consistory, Allentown; VFW Post 4366; Brown & Lynch American Legion Post 9, Palmer Township; Lake Minisink Association, Pike Co. and US Navy Seal Museum, Fort Pierce, FL. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Betty Marie, he is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Ganovsky and her husband, Karl of Walnutport and Cindy L. LaStella and her husband, Anthony of Nazareth; three grandchildren, Brett LaStella and his wife, Skye, Katie Ganovsky and Clint LaStella and his wife, Jennifer; and two great-grandchildren, Brynlee and Brooklyn. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton Street, Wilson Borough. Call Tuesday 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Easton Heights Cemetery. Offer online condolences at Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 3900 Freemansburg Ave., Easton, PA 18045.
