Mr. Harry Bruce Tyler
It is with deep regret to announce that I have lost my husband of 42 years. Mr. Harry Bruce Tyler, 70 of LaGrange, Georgia, died Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at his residence.
Memorial services were held Sunday, February 21, 2021, at 2 P.M., at the Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jeff Hines officiated with Chapman Funeral Home directing.
Born June 7, 1950 in Eufaula, Alabama, Mr. Tyler was the son of the late Manice Clinton and Willie Pearl Matthews Tyler. Mr. Tyler was a graduate of the Eufaula High School Class of 1968. In addition, he was a graduate of the University of Alabama Class of 1974 where he obtained a business degree and accounting degree and was an active member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Followed by an illustrious career as Vice President at Energy Absorption in Pell City, Alabama, his career catapulted to other opportunities which led him to continue to use his talents in order to serve and grow other companies under his leadership. After retiring from business, he worked at Gadsden State Community College in Gadsden, Alabama, teaching adult education which he loved. He was a supportive and active member of the Alabama Alumni Association and the Tuscaloosa Red Elephant Club. In addition, he was a major contributor to the "Tider Insider" social media platform of which every member enjoyed and learned from his perspective and opinions. Mr. Tyler's hobbies were playing guitar and cultivating his fruit trees, when he wasn't supporting the Crimson Tide during their active football season. Preceding Mr. Tyler in death were his parents and his siblings, Mancile, Bill (Gay), Kit and Paul.
Survivors include his wife: Wendy Campbell Tyler of LaGrange, Georgia; 1 brother: Jimmy Tyler of Smith Station, Alabama; 1 sister: Angie (Russell) Kelley of Pensacola, Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
