NEW OXFORD Robert L. Stevens, 64, died Friday, January 18, 2013, at Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Pamela L. (Sebright) Stevens, his wife of 44 years. Robert was born May 30, 1948, in York Co., the son of the late Donald F. and Betty (Diehl) Stevens. Robert was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Oxford, and retired in 2011 from P.H. Glatfelter Co. in Spring Grove after 34 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army with the Military Police during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the Quarter Century Club at P.H. Glatfelter, the Spring Grove V.F.W., the AMVETS in Hanover, and the Adams Co. Transplant Support Group. In addition to his wife Pamela, Robert is survived by three sons, Shane M. Stevens and his wife, Roxanne of Spring Grove, Ryan E. Stevens and his wife, Alissa of Hanover, and Eric S. Stevens and his wife, Kori of Whitehall; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Jordan, Justin, Bradyn, Rylee, Devyn, Camden, and Caden Stevens; three step grandsons; his mother-in-law, Carlyn Sebright of New Oxford; a sister, Pat Keller and her husband, Rick of Jefferson; a brother, John Stevens and his wife, Deb of York Springs; two aunts, Barb Crapster of Taneytown, Md., and Clara Eisenhart of East Berlin; and two nieces, Amanda and Adrienne. He was predeceased by a son, Shawn M. Stevens; and a brother, James Stevens. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, with Pastor Diane S. Baltaeff officiating. Burial will be in New Oxford Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Military rites will be provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Stevens, Ryan Stevens, Eric Stevens, Pat Keller, Rick Keller, John Stevens and Jessica Stevens. I had the pleasure of working with Bob on the same shift at the mill. I worked in another department but I got to see Bob frequently. He was a great guy to work with and a super nice person. Heaven is a better place now, but he will be missed here.
