E. Menges Obituary

YORK E. Louise Menges, 76, went home to be with the lord on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center, with her loving family by her side. Born February 24, 1936 in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of the late Luke K. and Naomi E. (Kemper) Frymyer. Louise was the loving wife of William B. Menges, Jr. with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Louise was a member of Harvest Time Temple, Hanover. She was a laborer having worked at Carroll Shoe, Revonah Spinning Mills, and SKF. After retirement she had a stand at the Hanover Market for the last 20 years. Louise enjoyed making crafts, being around Christian people, spending time with family, being at the Menges Diner, and playing with her puppy, Snoopy. In addition to her husband, Louise is survived by two children, Jackie K. Harman and husband Bryan of Spring Grove and William B. Menges, III and wife Tanny of Abbottstown; one brother, Samuel K. Frymyer of Hanover; and three sisters, Geraldine Wireman and husband Wilbur of Littlestown, Susie Frymyer Smith and husband Daniel of Hanover, and Darlene Hawbaker and husband Daniel of Littlestown; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Patsy Menges and Kathy Ann Menges. A service to celebrate and remember Louise's life will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at Harvest Time Temple, 700 Black Rock Road, Hanover, with her pastor, the Rev. Fred Mummert officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, as well as from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday at the church. Serving as casketbearers will be Kevin, Shawn, and Luke Frymyer, Nathan Hawbaker, Martin Menges, and Greg Mummert. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association of Hanover and Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331. Louise,I am going to miss you at church,you always welcomed me with a smile,the seat will be empty, but I know you will be with God no more pain,a new set of legs.Praise God, to be absent from the body and present with the Lord,will be seeing you on the other side of Glory!!!!!!!!
